Abstract:In this paper, a Cascade Reverse Double G-LC power resonant converter is presented. The novel converter can overcome limitations of two- or/and three- element resonant topologies by adding a fourth energy storage element. It effectively reduces the power losses and largely increases the power transfer gain. The simulation results using state-space averaging technique show that the resonant voltage and current have very smooth waveforms and very low total harmonic distortion (THD) value. Moreover, the steady state characteristics making use of classical ac analysis indicates that the four-element resonant converter exhibits maximum voltage transfer gain at two switching frequencies. The mathematical analysis and calculations are in good agreement with the experimental results.
